Biography
2023-24
Karter Knox established himself as not only one of the best basketball players in OTE but as one of the best high schoolers in the nation during an award laden 2023-24 season. Knox rounded out the season as the second runner-up for the league’s MVP award after averaging 23.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 2.7 APG. On top of his near MVP status, Knox was named to the McDonald’s All-American game, making him one of the first three OTE players to earn such a distinction. On top of his other prestigious accomplishments, Knox also landed on the All-OTE First Team, one of two RWE players to earn All-OTE honors.
Knox’s 23.1 PPG was the third highest in the league in the regular season while he also finished top ten in dunks (1.2 DPG, 8th) and minutes (31.4 MPG, 7th). Knox had some all-timer games in the regular season, scoring over 30 points on four separate occasions, but none was greater than his 35 point explosion in a pivotal win against the Cold Hearts in the penultimate game of the season. Knox followed that game up with another 30 point outburst in the regular season finale against the YNG Dreamerz while notching a complete stat line of 30 points, six assists, five boards, four steals and a block. Knox was also one of the league’s most elite volume three-point shooters and he showed off that skillset in a dominant win over the Blue Checks where he knocked down seven triples, the second most in a game by any player this season.
Knox’s accolades and historic performances didn’t end at the conclusion of the regular season, as he had a remarkable postseason in which he led RWE to Game 5 of the finals where the team came up just short. Knox averaged the third most points per game in the playoffs at 21.6 PPG, scoring in double figures in every game and over 20 points in five out of nine games he played in. Knox’s strongest performance of the postseason came in RWE’s closeout game against the first seeded YNG Dreamerz in the semis, a game in which Knox notched his second consecutive double-double with 30 points and ten boards to seal the team’s massive upset. Knox’s best showing in the finals against the City Reapers came in Game 1 where he scored 26 points and he, alongside Daquan Davis, put the game away for RWE. Over the course of the OTE Finals, Knox and Davis combined to score roughly two-thirds of RWE’s points.
Knox is committed to attend the University of Arkansas next season where he will continue his basketball career.
Prep
Karter Knox is a 5-star small forward from Riverview, Florida. He led Tampa Catholic in scoring the past three seasons with two of those years averaging over 20 points per game. He led the program to back-to-back semi-final appearances the last two seasons. Karter was named the 3A Florida Player of the Year his junior season before moving to OTE. Knox was also a member of the 2022 USA Basketball U17 National Team. His older brother Kevin, played at Kentucky and was the 9th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. Kevin, now plays for the Detroit Pistons. This past summer, he finished second in PPG in Nike EYBL Regular Season and was named to The Circuit 2nd Team: Nike EYBL Regular Season.
