Biography

2023-24

“Comeback Kid” Jahki Howard had a storybook season, winning a championship as an integral member of the City Reapers and capped it all off with the coveted Finals MVP trophy. Howard was instrumental to the Reapers success all throughout the 2023-24 season, being named to the All-OTE Second Team after averaging 15.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 1.5 APG during the regular season. Howard’s 15.1 points per contest were the 11th most in the league this season and the most for the City Reapers. Howard also exhibited his historically good bounce as he averaged 1.4 dunks per game, the fourth most in OTE. Howard’s standout moment from the regular season came in the last game of December against RWE when he, with the Reapers down two and 15 seconds remaining, took the ball to the rack where he finished a tough and-one layup to put the Reapers in the lead and eventually win the game.

Howard put together a special playoff run, with a PPG average of 14.8 in the finals while being a consistently steady presence for the Reapers. On top of an already impressive finals performance, Howard had the moment of a lifetime when he knocked down an and-1 triple from the corner with 30 seconds left to break up a deadlocked game and push the Reapers over the top in their pursuit of a championship. In the finals, Howard scored in double-figures in every game, including back-to-back games of leading the Reapers in scoring as he put up 18 points in both games 3 and 4.

Howard is slated to continue his baseball career at Auburn University for the 2024-25 season.

2022-23

Jahki finished his first season at OTE losing in the Championship to the City Reapers. He was traded from the City Reapers to the YNG Dreamerz after five games. Played in three games during the regular season with the Dreamerz. Scored in double figures in five of the eight games he played. Jahki was named OTE Player of the Week after scoring 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists at Hillcrest. Played in three playoff games.

Prep

Jahki joins OTE after one year playing for Donda Academy. Howard uses his length and athleticism to be disruptive on the defensive end and get his looks on offense. He also has USA Basketball experience, participating in the 2021 USA Men's U16 National Team training camp. Before transferring to Donda Academy for his sophomore year, Howard played for Norcross High School his freshman season.
