Biography

2023-24

Big man Marcis Ponder missed the majority of the regular season with injury but did find himself with an increased role in the postseason. During the Cold Hearts playoff run, Ponder averaged 1.2 PPG and 1.6 RPG in 5.3 MPG. In Game 2 against the City Reapers in the semi-finals, Ponder found himself with 12 minutes of playtime and put them to good use as he logged two points, four boards and a block.

Prep

Marcis Ponder is from Miami in the class of 2026 and played for Miami Norland HS the last two seasons. The Vikings’ 7-footer averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds off the bench and shot 60 percent from the field and 49 percent at the free throw line. Marcis plays for Team Breakdown in AAU. Miami Norland went 21-8 for the season and bowed out in the region finals of the Class 5A state tournament (the quarterfinals) to eventual champions Belen Jesuit. The sophomore already has high major offers.
