City Reapers Huge Third Quarter Carries Them Past the Bruins

A close game turned into a rout in the third quarter as the City Reapers topped the Hillcrest Bruins 108-80 at OTE Arena.

Broadcast on Amazon Prime tonight, the game was close at the half with the Reapers leading 42-39. They used a huge third quarter where they outscored the Bruins 39-13 to blow the game wide open and cruised from there.

Amen Thompson led the team with 22 points. Ausar Thompson posted a complete line with 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Ryan Bewley also posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Somto Cyril also made a huge impact in the second half scoring nine points, having four blocks and grabbing five rebounds

The Reapers got going in the third closing out the quarter going on a 24-2 run. The Bruins held par in the fourth, but the City Reapers had done their damage.

Jason Asemota led the Bruins with 21 points. Jordan Burks finished his strong weekend after scoring 20 points tonight after scoring 32 last night.

The next Overtime Elite games will be in Raleigh this Tuesday as the YNG Dreamerz take on the Word of God Holy Rams at 7 p.m.
