Overtime Elite Closes Regular Season with Three Big Wins

Overtime Elite finished out its inaugural regular season with three more wins against The Skill Factory, Phhoenix Prep and SPIRE Institute.

Team Overtime finished the season with several records, including being undefeated against external competition at a perfect 17-0, Jazian Gortman scored the first points in OTE history and they have been the only team to break 100 points two times this season.

Jean Montero needed 18 points to become the inaugural season scoring champion and had 21 in the game.

Team OTE finished in first place with 25 points and has already secured a spot in the championship. On March 8, Team Elite and Team Overtime will play for the second spot in the championship.

The championship begins on March 9 and will be a best of three series with each player on the winning team getting $10,000.

Team OTE 72 vs. Phhoenix Prep 53

Team OTE started the night playing in the first game and led the entire way, but things were tight going into the fourth quarter.

After being up eight at halftime, their lead was cut down to three going into the fourth quarter and they stepped up their intensity. They went on to outscore Phhoenix Prep by 16 in the fourth, to go on and win by 19.

Amen Thompson led the way with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. Tyler Smith was right behind him with 17 points.

Kok Yat was back for Team OTE and scored six points and four rebounds.

Team Elite 81 vs. SPIRE Institute 56

Team Elite jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter out scoring SPIRE by 15 points. After leading by 14 at the half, they started the third quarter strong just like the first, beating them 31-13 in that eight minute stretch to let them cruise to the win in the fourth.

They had five in double figures with Jaylen Martin and Bryson Warren scoring 15, Ausar Thompson and Ryan Bewley finishing with 13 points and Bryce Griggs had 12.

Bewley also had eight rebounds and three steals.

Team Overtime 100 vs. The Skill Factory 39

After beating Phhoenix Prep by 64 points last night, Team Overtime brought the fire again tonight downing The Skill Factory by 61 points.

They scored 100 points marking the most points by any Overtime Elite team in a 32-minute game. Team Overtime got stronger as the night went on scoring 22, 24, 27 and 27 points in each quarter.

They were led by Dominick Barlow and Jean Montero, with each posting 22 and 21 points. Coming into the game, Montero needed 18 to become the scoring champion at OTE and he surpassed that mark in the third quarter.

Their defense was equally as strong with 11 points being the most they gave up in a quarter.

Four other players scored in double figures as Nathan Missia-Dio with 14, five rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
