OTE has Two Athletes Invited to USA Men’s U18 Training Camp

Byrson Warren and Matt Bewley were two of 27 athletes invited for the USA Men’s U18 training camp May 26-June 2 in Houston, Texas.

Warren and Bewley will vie for one of 12 spots on the USA Basketball U18 National Team that will compete at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico, from June 6-12. Training camp participants and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee and will represent the high school graduating classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

They completed Overtime Elite’s inaugural season back in March with Warren’s team defeating Bewley’s team in the championship. Warren finished second on his team averaging 19.2 points per 40 minutes, and Bewley led the entire league in rebounds and was a defensive anchor for his team.

Expected to participate from the class of 2023 are Omaha Biliew, Xavier Booker, Kanaan Carlyle, Stephon Castle, Isaiah Collier, Caleb Foster, Brandon Gardner, Brandon Garrison, Gregory ‘GG’ Jackson, Carter Lang, Jared McCain and Ja’Kobe Walter.

USA Basketball recently announced the U18 National Team coaching staff, which will be led by University of Colorado’s Tad Boyle.
