Leading by as many as 24 points in the second quarter and up by 18 heading into the fourth, Team Elite was seemingly in control, but Team OTE wasn’t going to go down without a fight. They started to chip away and got within 10 after a Johned Walker three with five minutes left.
With under a minute left, TJ Clark hit his second three in a couple of minutes to make it a two-point game with 20 seconds left. From there, Team Elite had to make their free throws and they came up clutch going 4-4 over the final 20 seconds to secure the 74-69 victory.
Bryson Warren led Team Elite with 19 points with three assists and three steals. Ausar Thompson filled out the box score as well with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Team Elite came out on fire to start the game behind 14 points from Warren in the first 16 minutes to lead by 15 at the break.
All season Team Elite has struggled in the third quarter, but tonight they hit a 10-3 run to start the second half. After that, Team OTE started to chip away and only lost the quarter 18-15, but it was just enough for Team Elite to hold off the run.
A big part of Team OTE’s comeback was Amen Thompson finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and three steals. Johned Walker was the only other Team OTE player in double figures with 14 points.
