Team OTE Clinches Top Seed in Playoffs

With the top seed on the line in the Overtime Elite standings, Team OTE prevailed 60-52 over Team Overtime behind a huge game from Johned Walker at OTE Arena.

Walker scored 19 points to finish off one his best weeks in an OTE uniform, where he helped his team to a 2-0 record to secure the top seed in the playoffs averaging 18.0 points in the two games against Team Elite and Team Overtime.

Team Overtime started the night with the lead behind a strong first quarter, but Team OTE got going in the second, scoring five quick points to take the lead. In the tight contest, the second quarter proved to be the difference as Team OTE won the quarter 17-11 and took a 31-26 lead at the break.

Team Overtime tried to mount a charge in the second half, but Team OTE had an answer at every turn with Walker and Amen Thompson on the offensive and defensive end. Team OTE forced 17 turnovers with Walker and Thompson both coming up with three steals each. The team totaled 12 steals overall.

De’Vontes Cobbs also came up massive leading both teams in rebounds with 10. Cobbs added nine points as well.

Team Overtime was led by Lewis Duarte with 15 points, followed by Jean Montero with 14 points and Dominick Barlow with 13 points.

Matt Bewley finished with 14 points and Tyler Smith had 10 for Team OTE.

The Team’s will finish out the regular season next weekend playing Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26 playing against Phoenix Prep, SPIRE Institute and The Skill Factory.
