OTE and Prime Video Agree to Streaming Deal
It’s been a busy week for the league with yesterday’s announcement of Prime Video and Overtime Elite (OTE) announced a multiyear agreement giving Prime Video exclusive global streaming rights to 20 live games per season for the next three seasons, beginning November 4, making Prime Video OTE’s first global media rights partner. This season, all of OTE’s games in Atlanta will be streamed live on either Prime Video or OTE’s YouTube channel.
Rob Dillingham Signs with OTE
Rob Dillingham has signed a scholarship to join Overtime Elite for the league’s second season.
The point guard previously played for Donda Academy. Dillingham recently played at OTE on its Opening Night powered by GMC and showed why he’s one of the best high school players in the country after scoring 36 points and having five rebounds, four steals and three assists. The consensus top-10 prospect is committed to Kentucky.
Preseason Recap
OTE had a busy offseason and preseason. The three teams in Atlanta have played a variety of preseason games at home and on the road to prepare for the upcoming season. The City Reapers, Cold Hearts and YNG Dreamerz have gone a combined 19-2 in the preseason.
Last week, OTE hosted some of the best high school players in the world for OTE Opening Night powered by GMC. Jared McCain, the Boozer Twins, Mikey Williams, Rob Dillingham and the California Basketball Club were all in the building for a matchups that drew plenty of celebrities along with a sold out crowd to OTE Arena.
A few days later, OTE hosted its fall pro day with more than 70 scouts from 29 teams in attendance to evaluate all 30 of the OTE players. The athletes went through shooting drills, 4v4v4 and then some 5v5 for the scouts and media.
OTE Trade Window Opens
After the preseason, the three teams in Atlanta made some deals to optimize their teams.
The Cold Hearts were active by sending Johned Walker and ZZ Clark to the City Reapers for De’Vontes Cobbs. They then traded Nathan Missia-Dio to the City Reapers for Naasir Cunningham.
**Matchups This Weekend **
City Reapers vs. OSL Falcons (Friday at 7 p.m.)
Amen and Ausar Thompson return for their final season at OTE and will lead the City Reapers against OSL Falcons to kick off their season. The City Reapers are full of talented newcomers looking to make a difference, including Jahki Howard.
Howard has shown his versatility on the wing with highlight-reel worthy dunks and exceptional scoring from the perimeter. Howard has scored 32 and 29 points in two games in the preseason - preseason highs for any OTE player.
The Falcons join the league as an expansion team after traveling to Atlanta last season and going 1-1 in the weekend they were in Atlanta.
YNG Dreamerz vs. Hillcrest Bruins (Friday at 9 p.m.)
The YNG Dreamerz and Hillcrest Bruins both look to get off to a good start for the season. The Dreamerz have had an up and down preseason learning how to play with each other, but are loaded with talent in the 2023 and 2024 draft class.
Hailing from Phoenix, The Bruins went 0-2 in their experience with OTE last season, but won’t back down from a challenge with their sights set on making noise in Overtime Elite this year.
YNG Dreamerz vs. OSL Falcons (Saturday at 6 p.m.)
YNG Dreamerz has a quick turnaround with the late game Friday and first game on Saturday. They’ll play a scrappy, hard nosed Falcons team that’s not afraid of anyone.
Both teams will have to come ready to go to close out the first weekend of the season strong.
Cold Hearts vs. Hillcrest Bruins (Saturday at 8 p.m.)
In the second game on Saturday, Cold Hearts will play their first game of the season against the Hillcrest Bruins.
The Cold Hearts will be a must watch all season for OTE fans as they have Bryce Griggs setting up high fliers Trey Parker and Tyler Smith.
