All three Overtime Elite teams dominated its competition at OTE Arena on Friday night. They hosted Our Saviour Lutheran, Combine Academy and Sunrise Christian Prep and all three OTE teams won by double figures.
No OTE team trailed after the first quarter with Team OTE winning by 25, Team Overtime winning by 20 and Team Elite winning by 11.
Matt Bewley of Team OTE led all scorers with 22 points and rounded out his stat line with seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks. He was perfect from the field going 9-9 with two three pointers.
The three teams will be back on Saturday with the first game starting at 3 p.m. at OTE Arena in Atlantic Station.
Team Overtime 68 vs. Our Saviour Lutheran 48
Team Overtime never trailed against Our Saviour Lutheran, but it was close at times in the first half. Team Overtime took a 10-point lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break, they went on a run to start the half, but Our Saviour Lutheran ended up cutting the lead down to 13 before the fourth quarter. It was all Team Overtime in the fourth as they continued to push out their lead winning by 20.
Dominick Barlow led them with 17 points and Jean Montero was right behind him with 15.
Team Elite 75 vs. Combine Academy 64
Combine Academy came out swinging and rode Jayden Epps 17 points in the first quarter to a lead, but Team Elite hung tough and cut into it and was leading by the end of the first 24-21.
They then kept that momentum in the second quarter and pushed their lead up to 12 halftime.
Combine responded in the third to bring it within two, but Team Elite stretched it back out to nine heading into the fourth and made sure to not let Combine Academy back in the game.
They went on to win 75-64.
Team OTE 77 vs. Sunrise Christian Prep 52
Playing in first place for the first time, Team OTE made sure to show the fans a good show never giving Sunrise Christian Prep a chance.
The only time they trailed in the game was after Sunrise Christian Prep scored the first basket. Other than that, they increased their lead every quarter and led by double-digits in the second half the entire time.
In addition to Bewley throwing up monster numbers, Tyler Smith had a career night in an OTE uniform scoring 17 points. Between Bewley and Smith, they combined for 39 points and went 13-17 from the floor.
Every player on Team OTE scored for the eighth straight game with five of the six players scoring in double figures.
