Overtime hosted their first pro-simulation game at OTE Arena on Friday, November 12.
For these simulated professional-style games, (Pro Sim) OTE players were divided into two rosters with the format structure modeled after the NBA. The game was played with four twelve-minute periods, a 24-second shot clock, three timeouts per team, per quarter, a 10-minute halftime and the NBA 3-point line.
Jean Montero once again showed his smooth scoring ability leading both teams with 24 points on the night. Amen Thompson also had a good scoring night pouring in 20 points of his own.
As Overtime Elite’s stars were showing out on the court, celebrities filed in to see them once again with Dr. J sitting court side to take in the action.
Team OTE built an early lead and was on the verge of cruising to an easy win, but Team Elite battled back in the second half, tying things up in the third quarter.
The combination of Montero and the Thompson twins were too strong though as they pushed Team OTE back out in front to eventually claim the 105-95 victory over Team Elite.
Emmanuel Maldonado had one of his best nights in an OTE uniform, scoring 15 points in 20 minutes of action.
On Team Elite it was Matt Bewley and Bryson Warren that led the way with both scoring 18 points. Bewley grabbed 11 rebounds as well.
The big difference in the game came in the paint, where Team OTE outscored Team Elite 70-48.
Now, OTE will turn its attention back to prep series games on Friday, November 19 when they will be hosting Colorado Prep, We Are United Prep and Word of God. The first game will begin at 5 p.m.
