Ausar Thompson Named OTE Player of the Week

After a near triple double, Ausar Thompson has been named the Overtime Elite Player of the Week. It’s the second time Ausar has earned the OTE weekly honor.

The City Reapers just played one game last weekend, but dominated the red hot Holy Rams by 56 points. Ausar was efficient with 17 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. The 12 assists matched the single-game record at OTE.

The win moved the City Reapers to 13-1 and secured the one seed in the playoffs.

It was a tough week to win OTE Player of the Week as there were several players that had great weeks. Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn had 27 and 29 points in two wins over the Cold Hearts to help the Holy Rams secure at least a three seed in the playoffs.

Eli Ellis stayed on fire and hit seven threes in the Reapers game finishing with 21 points while not playing in the fourth quarter. Tyler Smith had a career high 35 points on 11-14 shooting.

This weekend are the last games in the regular season for Overtime Elite before the playoffs start. The City Reapers will play the Cold Hearts on Amazon Prime at 7 p.m. and the YNG Dreamerz will play the Holy Rams on Friday at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. OSL and Hillcrest will both play each other Friday and Saturday night in the Bronx.
