Team OTE led from start to finish in their crucial game with Team Elite to put themselves back into first place in the standings.
They ended up winning 65-59, using a first quarter where they outscored Team Elite 19-10 and never looked back. Johned Walker came off the bench and provided a big boost leading all scorers with 17 points and having five assists along with zero turnovers.
Overall, Team OTE’s bench outscored Team Elite 30-10 in the game with Walker’s 17 points and Tyler Smith adding 13 as well.
Smith was key in Team OTE’s fast start with nine of his 13 points coming in the first quarter going 4-5 from the floor in the first eight minutes.
Team Elite tried to make a couple of runs in the second and third quarter, but could never get over the hump and reclaim the lead.
Izan Almansa was the third player on Team OTE to score in double figures with 11. He also had six rebounds.
Team Elite had three players score in double figures led by Ausar Thompson and Bryce Griggs with 14 and Emmanuel Maldonado with 11 points. Griggs led the team with four assists as well.
There is one more game this week at OTE Arena between Team OTE and Team Overtime in a battle for first place. With a win, Team OTE will be the one seed heading into the playoffs.
