The three Overtime Elite teams all handled their opponents with ease on Friday night in front of a big crowd at OTE Arena.
The star of the night came last when Ausar Thompson finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. His teammate, Bryce Griggs, led all scorers on the night with 20 points of his own.
The three OTE teams are rounding into form right as the regular season is ending the three teams combined to beat their three opponents by over 42 points.
They will turn around tomorrow once again and play The Skill Factory, SPIRE Institute and Phhoenix Prep. First game is at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Team Overtime 97 vs. Phhoenix Prep 33
Team Overtime played a complete game scoring 97 points and knocking off Phhoenix Prep by 64 points, a new Overtime Elite record.
Dominick Barlow and Montero each led the way with 19 points and Jai Smith posted 18. The three of them alone combined to score 56 points. Five players finished in double figures overall.
Jazian Gortman filled out his stat line as well finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds and 7 assists.
Team OTE 71 vs. SPIRE Institute 47
Team OTE followed Team Overtime’s lead and never trailed against SPIRE Institute. They completely opened things up in the fourth quarter behind balanced scoring.
Amen Thompson led the way with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Three other players scored in double figures. The other double-figure scorers were Tyler Smith with 13, Matt Bewley with 11 and Johned Walker with 10.
The win pushed Team OTE’s record to 19-3.
Team Elite 77 vs. The Skill Factory 40
After leading by 11 at halftime, Team Elite exploded in the second half to outscore The Skill Factory 44-18 in the last 16 minutes.
Four players scored in double figures with Griggs leading all scorers with 20. Right behind him was Thompson’s complete stat line. Bryson Warren was back in action and scored 13 points and five rebounds.
Ryan Bewley was active all night as well, having 10 points and seven rebounds.
