Cold Hearts Ready to Make Amazon Debut Against YNG Dreamerz

After a big opening weekend in front of two sold out crowds, Overtime Elite heads into the second week of the season with some big matchups coming.

All games at OTE Arena will be streamed live this season either on Amazon Prime or OTE’s YouTube page.

Player of the Week

After leading the YNG Dreamerz to a perfect 2-0 weekend to start the season, Jaylen Martin has been named the Overtime Elite Player of the Week after averaging 22 points and eight rebounds leading his team in scoring both games.

He set career highs with 27 points and 14 rebounds against the OSL Falcons on Saturday. Both were league highs this weekend.

Heading into his draft eligible year, Martin is coming off a big summer where he played in TBT, went on the Overtime European tour playing professional teams in Spain and Serbia and played against the Adelaide 36ers in Phoenix two days before they beat the Phoenix Suns.

Dillingham Makes his Cold Hearts Debut

Last week, OTE announced Rob Dillingham was joining the league and would be playing for the Cold Hearts. He’s ready to make his debut this Friday at 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime.

Dillingham played with the Blue Checks on OTE’s Opening Night powered by GMC and went viral after scoring 36 points against the Cold Hearts. Now the Kentucky commit will team up with Trey Parker and Bryce Griggs on their quest to win the league with an electrifying back court.

The Cold Hearts started off the season strong with a 92-75 victory over the Hillcrest Falcons on Saturday after strong performances by Griggs and Matt Bewley. Both had double-doubles as Griggs had 13 points and an OTE single-game record 12 assists. Bewley was dominant in the post having a career high with 26 points, pulling down 11 rebounds and having six blocks.

City Reapers Use Fourth Quarter Comeback

The City Reapers first game of the season against the OSL Falcons was OTE’s first broadcast on Amazon Prime, and the fans got a great game.

Ausar Thompson showed why NBA teams are so interested in him for next summer’s draft, finishing with 20 points, six assists, six rebounds and three steals with eight NBA teams in the building.

Trailing by as many as eight in the fourth quarter, the City Reapers buckled down on defense. They closed the final 3:44 with a 14-0 run to get the win. In the run, Ausar hit his third three of the night to tie the game at 85 and Amen Thompson helped ice the game going 5-5 from the free throw line in the final minutes.

Amen chipped in with 14 points and seven assists and Johned Walker had 10 points.

YNG Dreamerz Start Season 2-0

The YNG Dreamerz had the perfect start to the season winning their two games during opening weekend by an average of 14.5 points.

They were extremely well balanced as Martin averaged 22 points per game, Bryson Warren averaged 16.5 points per game and Jazian Gortman averaged 13.5 points per game.

They’ll have a big test this weekend playing against the Cold Hearts. In the preseason, both teams matched up once and the Cold Hearts came away with a 98-92 victory.

What’s Next?

It’s a quick turnaround for the YNG Dreamerz and Cold Hearts as they will travel to the Bronx to to take on the OSL Falcons and the Evangel Eagles on Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16 at Mount Saint Michael Academy.
