YNG Dreamerz Knock Off City Reapers

The YNG Dreamerz executed their game plan close to perfection in knocking off the City Reapers 71-61 on Friday night at OTE Arena.

In a game where scoring was at a premium for both sides, Bryson Warren and Jazian Gortman both finished with 13 points. The story of the night was Alexandre Sarr guarding Ausar Thompson, making it difficult all night. Sarr held him to just three points on 1-11 shooting.

Tied at 52, Warren hit a three to give the Dreamerz the lead that they’d hold onto the rest of the way. They built a six-point lead and Ausar found Eli Ellis for a corner three to trail 62-59. Jahki Howard answered with a three of his own to put the Dreamerz back up six and it was never in doubt after that.

Ellis led the Reapers with 18 points. The only other two players in double figures were Bryson Tiller and Amen Thompson.

After being tied at halftime, the Reapers tried to take control of the game starting the second half with an 8-0 run. The YNG Dreamerz were resilient though and bounced back to take a four-point lead into the fourth quarter. Every time the Reapers tried to make a run from there, the Dreamerz had an answer for them to secure the victory.

The Dreamerz played a complete game on the defensive end outrebounding the Reapers 46-32 in the contest with Gortman leading the team with nine. Sarr and Warren both had eight as well.

In the second game of the night, the Cold Hearts got the victory over the OSL Falcons.

They built a huge lead in the first half and withstood a big comeback attempt by the Falcons to get the 83-71 victory.

Malik Bowman led the team with 14 points going 4-4 from three. Six player overall finished in double figures to push the Cold Hearts to their fourth victory of the season.

On Saturday, the YNG Dreamerz will turn around and play the OSL Falcons at 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime at OTE Arena.
