Overtime Elite’s three teams took care of business on the court on Friday against The Skill Factory, Hillcrest Prep and DME Academy. They each beat their opponents by an average of 30 points at OTE Arena wearing their fresh jerseys from Billionaire Boys Club.
All three teams had strong performances, but the best individual performance of the night came in the last game when Dominick Barlow scored 27 points going 5-5 from three while adding six rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
After the third game, Blxst performed at center court for the sold out crowd in Atlantic Station.
The same three opponents will be back at OTE Arena tomorrow with the first game starting at 3 p.m.
Team Elite 74 vs. The Skill Factory 42
Team Elite came out against The Skill Factory clicking on all cylinders on both ends of the floor.
They held The Skill Factory to just eight points in the first and second quarter allowing them to lead 40-16 at the break.
Out of halftime, Team Elite kept the pedal on the gas outscoring The Skill Factory 24-9 in the third quarter allowing them to cruise in the fourth to the easy victory.
Bryson Warren once again paced his team with 18 points while going 4-6 from deep. Byrce Griggs and Ausar Thompson facilitated the ball all night totaling nine assists between them while also scoring in double figures.
Their 32-point victory is their second largest victory this season. They beat Calvary Christian by 34 points back on the second night of opening weekend.
Team OTE 71 vs. Hillcrest Prep 35
Similar to the first game, Team OTE’s defense held Hillcrest down all night, holding them to single digits the first three quarters.
Leading 25-9 at halftime, they broke the game open, out scoring Hillcrest 22-9 in the third.
For the ninth straight game, everyone on Team OTE scored at least one basket. For the second game in a row, Tyler Smith scored 20 points. Amen Thompson had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
A big part of the defense was the team having 12 steals with three players having three in the game. Overall, Team OTE forced Hillcrest into 19 turnovers.
The 36-point win by Team OTE is the largest in Overtime Elite history.
Team Overtime 73 vs. DSE Academy 49
Following the trend of the night, Team Overtime got out to a really big lead in the first half behind some good defense and hot shooting on offense.
DME Academy cut the lead to 14 at half, but Team Overtime had too much fire power.
Barlow’s night started hot with him scoring 13 points in the first going 3-3 from deep. He kept that up the rest of the night, posting an OTE career high with 27. Jean Montero and Alex Sarr both joined Barlow scoring in double figures.
The win keeps them undefeated against outside competition and in first place with a 14-2 record.
