Griggs Posts Triple Double in Cold Hearts Road Victory

The Cold Hearts got a big 101-86 road victory over the OSL Falcons in the Bronx with a shorthanded roster on Wednesday, November 16.

Bryce Griggs was sensational posting his first triple double at OTE with 16 points, 13 assists and 13 rebounds. He reached double-figure assists first and set the single-game record for assists with 13. Earlier in the season, he broke the record with 12.

Playing shorthanded because of a couple of injuries, the Cold Hearts knew they had to come out hot and that’s just what they did to build a huge lead early. The Falcons didn’t have an answer in the first half as the Cold Hearts led 54-24 at halftime.

The Falcons weren’t going to go down without a fight in their city and tried to mount a furious fourth quarter comeback using full court pressure the entire 10 minutes, but Griggs and his teammates held on for the 101-87 victory.

There were three players on the Cold Hearts that had 20-point games led by Naasir Cunningham, who was playing close to home in the northeast. Cunningham set an early OTE career high with 24 points. Trey Parker and Tyler Smith were also hot in the game with Parker scoring 22 and Smith scoring 20.

A big part of the Falcons comeback attempt was Jakeel Registe and Christian Jones combining for 41 points in the game. The closest the Falcons got in the fourth was down to 12 after trailing by 30 at halftime.

The win moves the Cold Hearts record to 2-2 and the Falcons fall to 1-4.

The next Overtime Elite game will come on Friday in Atlanta at OTE Arena. The City Reapers will take on the YNG Dreamerz at 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime.
