After catching fire in the fourth quarter in the City Reapers win over the YNG Dreamerz, Eli Ellis has been named the Overtime Elite Player of the Week.
Ellis dropped an OTE career high in points with 28 with 15 of those coming in the fourth quarter. The Reapers struggled on offense for a full three quarters, but exploded in the fourth with 34 points led by Ellis.
He set a single-game record with eight threes in the game with five of those makes in the fourth. It’s the fourth time this season that Ellis has scored at least 20 points.
Earlier in the week, Ellis played in two games back in his home state of North Carolina against Word of God and Winston Salem Christian. He had nine points against the Holy Rams and 21 points against Winston Salem Christian.
This was Ellis’ first OTE Player of the Week award. The City Reapers next game will be on Friday, February 3 at 9 p.m. against Word of God.
